A veritable reference book to Thunderbolt's many adventures, Patch after seeing through his disguise provides the perfect guide for him in his attempts at real-life heroics. In order to save his job, he decides he will go into the real world and perform an act of true heroism to prove himself. After the show, Lil' Lightning tells Thunderbolt the producers want to replace him with a younger dog. When Patch gets on stage he is in shock and gets stage fright resulting in him making a puppy bark which causes everyone to laugh at him and get pictures taken of him. The announcers tells the audience to let their dogs come on stage and show everyone their strong bark. ![]() While Lightning tries to impress the ladies, they just turn him down as they are not interested in sidekicks. ![]() Back in London, Patch makes it to the park and gets to see Thunderbolt and his "trusty" sidekick, Lil' Lightning. The puppies love their new home, Roger Anita and Nanny unpack and Roger finds a place for his music. Meanwhile the family arrives at the farm, the puppies run out of the truck so fast that Pongo is not able to count correctly and does not realize that Patch is gone. After seeing a K9 Crunchies truck drive by he runs away and heads for the audition to meet his hero. Patch decides to sleep in the kitchen in the bag of K9 Crunchies However the next morning when he wakes up Patch is accidentally left behind in the commotion and after seeing the truck leave, Patch thinks that they don't miss him. He talks to his sleeping dad and asks if he is one of a kind or just one hundred and one, however Pongo who was sleeping says he is one hundred and one. However, the move will interfere with his opportunity, late that night while everyone is asleep Patch is awake as is annoyed with everyone's sleep movements. As they head off to bed, Patch hears about a chance to appear on the show while it is bring filmed in London. While watching the The Thunderbolt Adventure Hour he constantly tries to tell everyone what's going to happen next much to their annoyance, and when he tries to bark like Thunderbolt the puppies laugh at Patch and even call him a "squeaky toy" which saddens him. The feistiest puppy, Patch, feels lost in a sea of spots and longs to be a one-of-a-kind wonder dog like his TV hero, Thunderbolt. Roger and Anita Radcliffe and their canine clan are packing for the big move to Dalmatian Plantation, a home in the country with plenty of room for Pongo, Perdita, and the 99 puppies and far from the clutches of Cruella De Vil. Patch becomes heartbroken when he finds out that his favorite wonder dog is just a TV actor. Patch becomes a part of Thunderbolt's TV show and wants to know: is he one of a kind, or just one of 101? Now is his opportunity as Thunderbolt thinks he will be replaced when it is just a plan by his sidekick Lil' Lightning to make him quit once and for all and make a jealous Lightning the star. ![]() ![]() In the film, Patch was accidentally left behind after the Radcliffes moved to Dalmatian Plantation located at Cherry Tree Farm, Little Tichfield Devon. Unlike several Disney direct-to-video sequels that essentially retell the original film's story (such as The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea), it takes characters from the original film in some new directions. The film tells the story of Patch, the loneliest Dalmatian, who felt "lost in a sea of spots" until he met his TV hero Thunderbolt. On June 9, 2015, it was re-released for the first time on Blu-ray. Disney re-released it on September 16, 2008. It was released on January 21, 2003, and garnered DVDX awards for best animated feature, best director, best editing, and best musical score.
