The Vari Comp looks pretty simple, but is a tad esoteric in its labelling. Rounding things off are high- and low-pass filters. Each can be switched to either bell or shelf, and in the case of the latter, high Q results in an overshoot shape. It features four bands in parallel configuration with notched frequencies and sweepable bandwidth. This basic EQ design is then super-sized into the Passive EQ, which looks suspiciously like Manley's revered Massive Passive. Much like the Manley hardware version, the low-band frequencies of NI's Enhanced EQ differ slightly from a real Pultec unit. It appears to be based on the Manley Enhanced Pultec EQP-1A, which itself is Manley's interpretation of the classic original Pultec units built by Pulse Technologies. This 3-band passive EQ design includes low shelf, high bell and high cut, and all frequencies are notched. In the Custom all value field, enter a value like +.In case you're not familiar with the hardware these plugins emulate, we should sum up the main features.Select the Include All Option checkbox. If you want to pre-populate a variable with an empty value, you can use the following workaround in the variable settings: This means that the topmost value in the drop-down is always preselected. By default, variables don’t have a default value.Put the variables that you will change often at the top, so they will be shown first (far left on the dashboard).Variable drop-down lists are displayed in the order they are listed in the variable list in Dashboard settings.Template Redux - Uses query variables, chained query variables, an interval variable, a text box variable, a custom variable, and a data source variable.Templating, repeated panels - Two sets of repeated panels use query variables.Elasticsearch Dummy Flight Data - Uses ad hoc filters.Graphite Templated Nested - Uses query variables, chained query variables, an interval variable, and a repeated panel. The following dashboards in Grafana Play provide examples of template variables: Not all panels will have template queries. Queries with text that starts with $ are templates. Variables can be used in titles, descriptions, text panels, and queries. Click a variable in the list to see its settings. To see variable settings, navigate to Dashboard Settings > Variables. Select different variables to see how the visualizations change. Variables are listed in drop-down lists across the top of the screen. Variable values are always synced to the URL using the syntax var-=value. Or you could create one dashboard and use panels with template queries like this one: TemplatesĪ template is any query that contains a variable.įor example, if you were administering a dashboard to monitor several servers, you could make a dashboard for each server. This simplifies maintenance and upkeep enormously. If you have multiple identical data sources or servers, you can make one dashboard and use variables to change what you are viewing. Variables and templates also allow you to single-source dashboards. These can be especially useful for administrators who want to allow Grafana viewers to quickly adjust visualizations but do not want to give them full editing permissions. These dropdowns make it easy to change the data being displayed in your dashboard. Variables are displayed as dropdown lists at the top of Instead of hard-coding things like server, application,Īnd sensor names in your metric queries, you can use variables in their place. Variables allow you to create more interactive and dynamic dashboards. The value, using the dropdown at the top of the dashboard, your panel’s metric queries will change to reflect the new value. You can use variables in metric queries and in panel titles. The following topics describe how to add and manage variables in your dashboards:Ī variable is a placeholder for a value.
